NYE Styling Tips From Our Favorite Local Bloggers! Posted on 10 Dec 03:01 , 1 comment
We are so excited to share with you our fun day and photo shoot with 3 of our favorite St. Louis Fashion Bloggers! We met Jenna from Sincerely Jenna Marie, Caryl from More Pieces of Me, and Jenna from Champagne and Polkadots in the stylish, "bohemian-chic" neighborhood of the Central West End. The CWE is basically St. Louis’s version of “The Village” and it was such a great backdrop for a New Year's Eve photo shoot with it's fabulous Holiday decorations.
We also got each lovely lady to share with us their NYE styling tips and we are happy to share with you!
"New Year's Eve is a chance to go totally glam, so have fun with sequins, leather, faux fur, lace, and all the other luxurious textiles that may not be appropriate for everyday life! Mixing a couple of them is a really great way to add some textural interest and amp up any outfit. Consider your outerwear when picking what you wear (assuming you live in a chilly climate) and how much you'll be standing/walking when you pick your shoes. There are plenty of gorgeous, yet practical options that will not only keep you comfortable but add to your ensemble." ~Jenna
"I like sequins year round, but New Year's Eve is the one day of the year when it's socially acceptable, so make the most of going big! Pick fabrics that will look just as fresh at midnight as they did at 7pm, aka be mindful of wrinkles! I can't not wear heels on a big night out, but I'll definitely bring a backup pair of rollup flats that I can tuck away in my bag if worse comes to worse! Funny enough, I love going out for New Year's Eve, but more often than not, I'm in my comfy clothes on the couch!" ~Caryl
"New Year's Eve is my absolute favorite holiday. First, because you can wear as many sequins as you like without judgement... but mainly since it is my Wedding Anniversary! This year is our first anniversary and I think it's going to be really hard to top last year's outfit (I was glittering head to toe in crystals and tulle.) NYE is all about the glitz and glamour so try something you would typically not doing during an average night out. Sequins, bright colors, statement jewelry, and lush materials like velvet or leather are all great options that will make you stand out. Also, make sure to avoid the brand new heels you just got for Christmas, because those tend to hurt after an hour of dancing! Though, if you have to wear them Band-Aid Active Friction Block Stick is your best friend. The most important thing is that you have fun in what you wear and feel confident the entire evening!" ~Jenna
